We want to know a bit about your family
life?
I'm originally from Connecticut; I spent 8 years serving in
the U.S. Navy as a Data Processing Technician. I have traveled to France,
Italy, Spain, Portugal, Canada, Cuba and The Bahamas. After serving my
time in the military, I moved to Las Vegas, NV where I met my wonderful husband
who is also an author. We currently live in Longview, WA. And I'm
attending Software Developer School to have a day job.
What drives you to write romance
stories?
I have all these beautiful stories
floating around in my head, that need to come out.
Do you have hidden messages woven into
your stories?
No.
What’s the best thing about your writing
and publishing routine?
I write in layers, as in each draft add
more story to each layer.
What steps did you take to publish

Getting my name out there to the public.
Why should a new reader buy your book(s)?

Book 3 of Empathic Shifters.
Brag about any awards or badges?
I earned a 3rd place award in a writing
contest for The Cultural, Interracial, Multicultural chapter of RWA.

Yes. The U.S. needs to recognize us Blacks as part
of the United States as citizens and have been since our ancestors were brought
here in 1619.

Don't also forget to grab a copy of any of her other books!
Jake Carrington, a former Marine and
billionaire owner of The Preserve Hotel and Casino, is frustrated with his life
of loneliness. He’s always lived for duty and honor, but he’s always been
missing something: the love of his life. But, after all this time, he knows
that she can’t possibly exist…
Until the day she walks into his life.
Cathryn Harvey, a former Navy IT tech
and a current cocktail waitress at The Preserve, is hiding a secret. Fiercely
independent and in complete control of her life, working at the casino has
allowed her the anonymity she needs to keep herself safe from her past.
But when
she meets the sexy man who stirs her blood in a way she’s never known before,
Cathryn struggles with letting her guard down. Something about this sensual and
captivating man seems familiar, different, and has set fire to her
senses. But when someone from her past returns and threatens to rip her
world apart, Cathryn may be forced to choose between a man who could be her
future and a man who will try his best to end it…

A BIT MORE ABOUT ~ CJ Jones
I’m originally from Connecticut;
I spent eight years serving in the U.S. Navy as a Data Processing
Technician. I have traveled to France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Canada, Cuba
and The Bahamas. After serving my time in the military, I lived in Las
Vegas, NV where I spent twenty-six years and met my wonderful husband Bear, who
is also a published author.
We currently live
in Longview, WA. And I'm attending Software Developer School-I still
need that day job!
I have always had a
vivid imagination and constantly lived in my
head. Thinking of all kinds
of stories or imagining myself in various movies or television shows. I
read my first romance novel while in high school. My mother had some
Harlequin Romances- it only took a day each to devour them, one by one.
I read
my first historical romance while serving in the Navy. One of my
shipmates was reading a historical romance, and when she finished it, she let
me read it. I bought my first historical romance, one written by Jennifer
Blake-Perfume of Paradise-and fell in love with that genre. Then I read
my first erotic romance written by Angela Knight-Master of Wolves-and I
was a goner from then on.
One
day I decided that maybe I could write stories like those authors have. I
contacted my favorite author Kate Douglas, who wrote "Wolf
Tales" and asked her if she would help me by becoming my mentor.
She graciously said yes, and said to me, "I just want to let you know
that I am the Queen of run-on sentence "e; She has been amazing and
has pointed me toward the right person to publish my first novel.
Speaking of my first novel... I started writing my first book in
2009. It slogged along terribly. It took me almost nine years to get to
20k words. We moved to Washington State in June 2015, and during the 4th
of July 2016 weekend, I was able to pump out 15k
more words to finish my first
novella at 35k.
I was not
expecting anything from the publisher until Monday morning, maybe. But Margaret
Riley, owner/publisher of Changeling Press, responded the next day, on a Sunday.
She did not reject my story but gave me some awesome advice. She liked
the concept of my story, but my mechanics for sentence structure needed a lot
of work.
I would have to say that was true,
because my last English class was in high school 78/79-the time that I like to
call The Jurassic Period. This is not typical of all authors. Some authors
take a lifetime to write one book,.. while others can turn out three to five
books a year.
I didn't give up on my
dream-I'm now starting a new career as a published romance author.
You can contact or follow me via Email.
I will always respond! Please be patient!
