We want to know a bit about your family life?
I’m the oldest of seven
children, none of my own. Until 2019, all of my great-grandparents were still
with us. My family can be crazy, but they all support me in everything I do.
What drives you to write romance stories?
I love, love. I’m
probably the biggest romantic of my friends and even in my family. Growing up,
we didn’t have that many healthy representations of romance. Writing has always
been in me, but as I got older and experienced my own struggles with love, I
wanted to tell stories were love transcends race and other life issues.
Do you have hidden messages woven into your
stories?
Yes, a lot of my stories
touch on topics and beliefs that have been passed down through generations.
They’re subtle messages, displayed by the way my heroines overcome issues, from
owning her sexuality, from dating younger men, to choosing herself, dating
outside of her race, to standing in her strength as a professional and getting
out of her own way.
What’s the best thing about your writing and
publishing routine?
I guess I would say the
best thing about my writing is how well I connect with many of my characters.
As far as my routine, I’ll get back to you on that. Lol! I’m still figuring
that out.
What steps did you take to publish your first
book?
When I published my
first book, I had no idea what I was doing. I purchased an image from this
stock site and paid $5 to have it turned into a full wrap. It did not fit the
tone of the book at all and it was evident. I hired an editor that was an epic
fail. But even with all those wrongs, I sold over 100 paperback copies the
first day it released. But I uploaded to Createspace and Smashwords and just
waited to see if it would take off—it didn’t.
How did you come up with the idea for your recent
book/Who’s your favourite character and why?
A guy I was dating a while
back actually gave me an idea for a scene. Being one who watches the market, I
knew Cowboys were popular right now, so I took his scene, coupled with a
real-life experience with a male virgin, made the hero a Cowboy and thus we
have, My Virgin Cowboy.
What’s the hardest thing about the publishing
process?
I’d say that for me, the
hardest part is the release launch, making sure you have all your ducks in a
row to make the most of that time and as much income as possible.
Why should a new reader buy your book(s)?
If you like off the wall
plots, tons of tropes, and dirty sex scenes, then pick up a title.
Working on a new book/project?
I’m working on way too
many projects. I’m finishing up a short story for the Love Me Always charity
anthology. Then I’ll wrap up bonus content for Avalanche, previously apart of
the Emerging Temptations boxed set. After all of that, more of my cowboys need
to be written.
Brag about any awards or badges.
The best I’ve got is
winning 1st place in a nationwide poetry contest when I was 13. Lol

They
say absence makes the heart grow fonder. That's one thing I didn't hope for
when I moved across the country. My new small-town life is exactly what I need.
A far cry from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Screw the heart.
What
I need now is to start over—a new lease on life and one night of passion.
Everything was going great until the hottie from the bar shares he's
never had his hand in the cookie jar before. No big deal. I'll never see him
again. But then I show up to dinner and learn the random guy I hooked up with
is my best friend's little brother.

Embarrassment
isn't enough to describe what I felt when she walked into the dining room. I
made a fool of myself. Showed my inexperience and was sure the memory would be
with her forever. But there she is, just as surprised as me. She wants me to
forget. Pretend it never happened.
Thing is—it did, and I’m glad about it.
Now
all I want is to make up for the last time. A chance to do it right—all the
time.
MY VIRGIN COWBOY is a BWWM, best friend's sibling,
small-town romance, that will grab you by the heart, make you laugh, and make
you fall in love with even the side characters.
