20 Ways To Express Love #Lovetips #Marriage #Wedding

Welcome to Advice Bench!

The number of ways we can show how we feel to the one we love is the focus of my blog post today on Advice Bench.

I have listed twenty ways in which you and I can prove our love to the special person in our lives.

My list is not exhaustive, it is based on my personal experience.

You can include other ways YOU also express how you feel to the one you love so much.

20 Ways to Express Love

1. Kiss your husband's lips, neck or forehead at any time.

2. Snug beside him on the sofa and link your legs and arms as you watch TV or use your phones. Form a habit of whispering in each other's ears.

3. Touch each other's 'body parts' (butt cheeks, chest, cheeks, chin, arms) as you walk past.

4. Leave a voice message on his phone to let him know you are thinking of him.

5. Text romance quotes or "I miss you" or "I'm thinking about you" to your husband when he is away from home. It keeps you in his thoughts. Sexy texts can stimulate what happens between the sheets later.

6. Many times, my husband buys me my favourite drink, desert or snack on his way from work. A simple treat that makes me smile and love him more. When I'm out, I also buy his favourite drink, snacks and this excites him.

7. Never forget special days: birthdays, wedding anniversary, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year.

You have to take time off work, clear your schedule and spend time with the special one in your life. What is money  or success if you don't have one special person to spend it with?

8. Sneak your arm through the crook of his elbow when you go for walks. I always link my arm with my husband's when we go out. I see smiles on people's face when they stare at us. We gossip about them too and have a good laugh.

9. Cook for your husband or wife. It is always a good thing.

10. Give each other a body, feet or head massage.

11. Chat together and enjoy each other's company inside and outside your home without the interference of anyone.

12. Hug him as he walks in through the door and at other times, even when your children or family members are around.

13. Listen to each other chat about your passion and interest even if you don't enjoy  the same activities.

14. Sit down and have drinks together, go out to the café or restaurant and enjoy a meal while gossiping and laughing about everything.

15. Avoid rudeness even if it kills you except in extreme cases. When you are angry, sometimes, it is wiser and more effective to remain silent.

16. Stare into each other eyes in silent communication. I find it exciting.

17. Touch each other's 'body assets' (butt, chest, cheeks, arms) as you walk past at home. Sends sweet sensations in different directions.

18. Be thoughtful. If your husband or wife needs peace and quite, give them space to relax. They will appreciate it.

If your husband or wife is a writer, show understanding by giving them time to write. They will love you for it.

19. Smile, smile and smile. A simple, cheap and effective tool to win your husband or wife's favour.

20. Don't lie to your husband or wife. Stand by your partner. Trust and loyalty is not an expression of love. Help your husband or wife achieve their dreams by showing support, encouragement and prayers.

The #Woman in #Marriage - #WiseWoman

Welcome to the continuation of The Woman in Marriage series.

Series four is titled - The Wise Woman

About a month ago, I mentioned in series one that I was invited to speak to a group of married women about - The Woman in Marriage - during their Mother's Day Symposium.

To read the first post on The Forgiving Woman, click here & the second post on The Praying Woman, click here & for the third post on The Virtuous Woman, click here. Today, I'm going to share some truths about The Wise Woman in marriage.

4. The Wise Woman – Queen Esther – The Book of Esther

“The wise woman builds her house but the foolish woman pulls it down with her hands.” Prov 14:1.

(i) The woman in marriage builds her home with love (cement) peace (bricks) joy (sand) and understanding (water).
(ii) She knows when to speak to her husband and when to hold her peace. A wise woman speaks wholesome words because a wholesome tongue is a tree of life, while vile words breaks the spirit. And out of the lips of a wise woman comes out a soft answer which turns away wrath. Prov 15:1.

(iii) A wise woman fears God and departs from evil (Prov 14:16) because she knows that a woman who fears the Lord, shall be praised. Prov 31:30b.

(iv) A wise woman has a merry heart. “He who has a merry heart has a continual feast (Prov 15:15b). She smiles, she is always cheerful and has a positive outlook on life.

(v) A wise woman respects her husband at all times even when she is hurt or angry.

Queen Esther

Esther was a Godly woman in the foreign land of Shushan. She was an orphan raised by Mordecai, her cousin. Her ancestors were taken as captives from Israel. Esther was a woman full of wisdom.

An orphan and a foreigner eventually married the powerful and influential King Ahasuerus who ruled  127 provinces from India (Asia) to Ethiopia (Africa).

In everything, Esther sought the face of the Lord. When her nation, Israel was under threat of extinction by the self-seeking Haman, she listened to Mordecai’s wise counsel.

Mordecai asked Esther to go into the King, her husband. Esther told Mordecai; “I will go to the king, though it is against the law, and if I perish, I perish.” Esther 4:16b. She told Mordecai to ask the entire Jewish people to fast for her for 3 days. She knew the power of God to save.

(vi) A wise woman knows the power of God to save.

On the third day, she went into her husband, King Ahasuerus. Queen Esther risked her life. But the king put out the scepter (If he hadn’t, she would have  been put to death). The king told Esther to ask for anything up to half his kingdom.

Through Queen Esther’s wisdom and courage, the nation of Israel was saved and the enemy destroyed.

In contrast to Queen Esther, I want to share the story of an unwise Queen with you.

The Unwise Woman (Queen Vashti) - Esther 1

Queen Vashti was the dethroned wife of King Ahasuerus before Esther took her place. Vashti lost her exalted place at her husband's side, because she single-handedly pulled down her own house with her own hands.

The king sent for her to appear before him on the last day of the feast he held for the princes, nobles and the people throughout the provinces. He asked for her to wear her royal crown. The king's intention was to show off Queen Vashti's beauty.

But she refused to appear before the king. Queen Vashti humiliated her husband, his authority and the people.

For her foolishness, Queen Vashti was stripped of her position and she never appeared before the king again. Her place was taken by a more worthy woman, Esther.

Dear women, the power is in your hands. By your words and actions, you have the choice to strengthen or tear down your home.

Be very clear about this; The woman in marriage has the power to build or destroy her home.

The series continues next week with The Submissive Woman. Thank you for visiting.

Are You in a #Loveless #Marriage? #StayMarried

What a trap you think you've ended up in!

If you live long enough, you'll know that everything is possible.

Whether you knowingly married without love because of circumstances or you imagined being in love and months or years down the marriage street you ended up in a loveless bed is irrelevant.

The fine question is, are you willing to search for any trace
of cold ash in your relationship? Are you willing to put in the time, effort and patience to restore it to a roaring fire?

As long as you took the marital vows, you promised him or her a lifetime together.

There are signs of dying ember waiting to be kindled or rekindled.

If you're willing to give it a try, read on.

Try these tips in no particular order:

1. DISCUSS your difficulties. Why shy away from hard talk? Get on your brave suit. Be open to some home truths and criticisms. To bear fruit, a seed must die!

2. DO something new together.
Take a holiday to a new destination, try a new restaurant, go swimming, skiing, ski diving, nightclubbing, dancing or learn a new language. Fan the dim flames...don't give up.

3. FLIRT with each other.
You've got the license to flirt without boundary. Whisper naughty words in each other's ears, touch hidden places, kiss, hug, tease with your lips, touch hair, face, hands and every inch of God given skin. Dribble soft chocolate or your favourite drink in the hidden places and lick with your mouth.

4. GO for sex outside the bedroom.
In the bathroom, kitchen, guest room, Utility room and any surface in the house. To stir the flame even more, try letting loose in your car!

And when all else fails, go for counselling by a family and marriage counsellor.

Don't give up...its until death do you part.

Are there other tips you want to add or do you think some marriages are not worth saving.
