#Truths About #Marriage - #Staymarried #Tips 2

NEW RELEASE ~ #99c

I blogged About Marriage part 1, two weeks ago. Click here to read.

There are basic truths you need to keep in mind if you are married.

And if you are not, you will also find these realities useful as you take the decision on who you want to wake up to see each morning.

Be reminded that you are just a student not the principal in the School of Marriage.

1. God is the only Principal.

2. Even in times of storms (there will be storms in your marriage), don't be unwise and run outside. There's no safety out there.
Storm

3. Keep in mind that, this school of marriage is the safest place to be.

4. Never go to sleep before completing your assignments for the day. Try to settle your arguments.

5. Never forget the C-word...Communicate. It means, talk and listen.

6. Communicate with your classmate (spouse) and with the Principal (God).

7. If you find out something in your classmate (spouse) that you do not appreciate, talk about it. Pray about it. Tolerate it. Understand that no one is perfect.

8. Remember your classmate is also just a student not a graduate.

9. God is not finished with him/her yet.

10. So take it as a challenge and work on it together.

11. Do not forget to study the Holy Book (the main textbook of this school - bible).

12. Start each day with a sacred assembly and end it the same way.

13. Sometimes you will feel like not attending classes, yet you have to because you will learn from each other everyday.

14. When tempted to quit, find courage and continue. Only losers give up. You are not a loser. Pray some more and believe.

15. Some tests and exams may be tough, but remember...

16. The Principal knows how much you can bear and yet...

17. It's a school better than any other.
A School

18. It's one of the best schools on earth;

19. Joy, peace and happiness accompany each lesson of the day. Your attitude is what helps you go on. Adopt a winning attitude.

20. Different subjects are offered in this school, yet LOVE is the major subject. Strive to PASS.

21. After all the years of theorizing about it, now you have a chance to practice it. Practice how to love everyday.

22. To be loved is a good thing, but to love is the greatest privilege of them all.

23. Marriage is a place of love, so love your spouse daily.

More grace from God.

Send this to all your married friends to encourage them, and to your unmarried friends to counsel and educate them.

Do You Sometimes Feel Lost? #Advicebench

Hot & Sexy Romance for #99c Each

So you feel lost sometimes? It is okay. You are not alone.

I watched a movie last night with my husband, titled The Catholic Priest. I was gladly surprised to learn that even Priests sometimes feel lost.

As long as we are human beings, we do not know the future. And uncertainty brings fear. Consequently, sometimes we feel lost about many things.

What You Can Do

A) About You

1. Look at yourself in the mirror, smile and give yourself a thumb up. sign
2. Say to yourself every now and again "Well done!"
3. For example, it is your birthday and no one remembers, not even your boyfriend or husband. It is not the end of the world. Go out, buy yourself the gift you want and sing, 'happy birthday' to yourself.

4. You envy your friends, colleagues or others because they wear designer clothes or carry a designer bag. If you can't afford a Gucci Bag, buy a replica or a Zucci bag (unknown label)!!! The men can't tell the difference!
5. If you can't afford Brazilian hair extensions, (I don't see why anyone in their right minds would buy a wig or hair extension for £1000 anyway), buy a beautiful cheaper option. Your husband or boyfriend would not know one from the other.

6. Look good and feel good and you will be validated. Stop waiting for other people to make you feel good. You will WAIT forever. They have their insecurities as well.
7. Looking good does not mean buying the most expensive clothes or shoes on the planet! It means putting it all together nicely, wearing a smile and walking like you are wearing designers! Get it? I do it and no one is the wiser. Go shopping or order from online sites that offer sales or sell at rock bottom prices.
8. Smile: Take good care of yourself at all times, love yourself and SMILE.

9. Celebrate yourself: Open a bottle of wine, hold a  large piece of chicken in
one hand, whistle to yourself and sing in your heart. When your husband asks you what's happening, tell him you are excited about who you are and about how awesome God is in your life.

10. Be Thankful: Are you too big to praise the God who gave you life and sustains you? Then go to the mortuary, put an alarm clock there, go back in the morning and see how many dead bodies wake up to the sound of the alarm clock.

"Only great fools are ungrateful".
Be thankful for who you are, what you are and where you are. You are not a mistake!!!

Ques: How many people go to bed thanking God because of you?

11. Help Others: Stop throwing yourself a pity party and start helping those around you.
12.Be Humble and throw away pride. Proud people do not know God.

13. Be Content: If you do not have what you need today, you will have  it tomorrow. Do not get high blood pressure just to keep up with the joneses.
 B) About Your Marriage

1. Worry Less: If you kill yourself because your husband committed adultery, he will marry the other woman. Prove to the other woman you can keep your home.

2. Stay Committed: Once you make up your mind to get married, make up your mind to stand by your husband or wife no matter what you go through.

3. Know this truth, no one will hurt you more than your husband or wife. Make up your mind to forgive him or her in advance.

4. Marry your friend because he or she will invade your privacy. Marry someone who knows your weaknesses and decides to cope.

5. Pray for your husband or wife and help him or her to succeed.

6. Wives, submit to your husbands and respect them. Note: Submission means strength put under control, not wife slavery.

7. Husbands, love and cherish your wives.

8. If a husband or any man lays his hands on his wife or girlfriend, he needs psychiatric attention urgently.

C) About Your Children

1. Give your children spiritual values, societal and cultural values. Teach your children your language. Love your child. Pray for your children.

2. Do not kill yourself because of any rebellious child. Go on your knees, pray and never give up.

3. For example, if your daughter gets pregnant or your son impregnates a girl, you should rebuke her, (or him) cry if you must, but do not abandon her or throw her out.

Culled from Pastor Funke Adejumo's talk on Living the Fullness. I love listening to this woman, she is absolutely practical and down-to-earth.

#Help! "My Wife Does Not Work" #Housewife #Homemaker

Welcome to Advice Bench!

Last week I got a message on WhatsApp and I decided to blog about it because it is relevant to families.

How could I pass up a chance to share this funny (for lack of a better word) but true piece with all the women in the world who are called, housewives, stay-at-home-mums or homemakers?
Photo is courtesy of Magcon

Apparently, there are some husbands who think, believe and say that their stay-at-home wives who care for their children and take care of their homes do not actually work.

Straight up, I want to tell you that it is only an ignorant husband that would even have these thoughts. Boohoo!
So, one husband who felt stressed, overworked and concerned that his wife was a bag of lazy bones had the following conversation with his psychologist;

HELP, MY WIFE DOES NOT WORK!!!

Conversation between one Husband (H) and a Psychologist (P):

P: What do you do for a living Mr. Bandy?

H: I work as an Accountant in a Bank.

P: And your wife, where does she work?

H: She doesn't work, she's only a housewife.

P: So, who makes breakfast for  your family in the morning?

H: My wife, because she doesn't work. It is her responsibility while I go to make money.

P: At what time does your wife wake up to prepare breakfast?

H: She wakes up at around 5am because she cleans the house first before making breakfast.

P: How do your kids go to school?

H: My wife takes them to  school, because she doesn't work. Who else would take them? I have to go to work.

P: After taking your kids to school, what does your wife do?

H: She goes to the market, then goes back home to do the cooking and laundry. As I said before, she doesn't work.

P: In the evening, when you get back home from the office, what do you do?

H: Oh, I take a well-deserved rest because I’m tired. You know I have been working all day trying to make a living for my family.

P: What does your wife do when you are resting?

H: She prepares meals and serves our kids. Then she prepares my meals, cleans the dishes, tidy the house and then puts our kids to bed.

* * *

Dear reader, you are welcome to draw your own conclusions on who works more from the above chat -
the husband or the wife?

To married men with stay-at-home-wives, quit saying your wife does not work. You need your unwise heads examined if you think taking care of the children and cleaning your house and putting everything in order is not considered work.

My Advice to husbands:

1. Help take care of your children, tidy up the house, wash dishes, put the kids to bed and tell the children bedtime stories. You are a parent, not a distant friend.

2. Thank your wife countless times a day for the work she does at home. Hug her, kiss her, laugh with her and protect her. Believe it or not, your wife makes you a complete man.

3. Take her out for meals she has not had to cook and also cook for her at home. Love means giving.

4. Go on holidays with your wife and the children. Don't be so busy you send them away on holiday and you carry on 'working' or having love affairs with other women.

5. Take your children out alone sometimes, so your wife gets a proper rest now and again. She is your wife, not your unpaid housekeeper or slave.

Husbands, if you doubt your wife is worthy of care, tenderness and appreciation, try getting pregnant, then carry the baby for forty weeks, go through labour pain and delivery, get a tear in your private area or have a caesarean section and then we can have this discussion again. Aha!

Yes, being a stay-at-home-mum or a working mum does not require a certificate, but her role is vital. She has the responsibility of bringing up the leaders of tomorrow.

So treat her with love, respect and care. Make her happy and keep her smiling. And don't forget to pray for her.

Of course, there are some husbands who appreciate their wives. Thank you for your good work.
