I’m Stella, Author & Publisher of 40 Flirty & Feisty Romance Novels. I’ve been married to my too-hot-to-handle, sexy husband for over 23 years, we have two adult children to God’s glory and live in London, UK. My romance stories feature sexy heroes who have hearts and souls and curvy heroines who are smart and know what they want. My lively, flawed characters who on their quest to find love will elevate your pulse rate, make your heart skip here & there, so that you’ll laugh, shed a tear sometimes and gasp for breath as their story unfolds. If an emotionally intense happy-ever-after is what you want coupled with a sprinkling of life lessons, turn to chapter one now & start reading. When I'm not writing, I'm having a laugh watching movies with my honey-boo, swimming like a star fish, or on mom duties with my grown-ups, or praising God in my own corner of the world. I dare you to read any or all of my steamy romance stories. I’ll love to hear from you.

Writing a Romance Story: 9 More Things to Keep in Mind - Part 2 #ASMSG

Two weeks ago, I blogged about 8 Things to Keep in Mind When Writing a New Romance Story .

Today, I'm concluding the post with 9 additional things to consider as you write your first romance novel.

Remember, this post is for upcoming and new writers.

In a nutshell, here are 9 tips to keep in mind when writing your story:

 9. NOVEL LENGTH: Don’t worry about the length of your novel. You can start with novellas (short length novels).

I have two short length novels: My Steamy Novella, Forbidden Dance is 28,860 words and my Tender Novella, Wild Whispers is only 18,410 words. My longest novel, Tempting Desire ~ A Body Tingling Romance is 69,720 words.

10. SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Of course, throw in other characters as you go along but not too many on the same page to confuse the reader. Introduce a character and give readers opportunity to ‘meet’ them. Only add secondary characters who add meaning to your story.

11. ROMANCE: Weave romantic tension from the start around the conflict. It could be eye contact, a touch, a smile or a wink between your lead characters.

All Flirty & Feisty Romance Novels have romantic tension woven into the conflict of my stories to give the reader an intense emotional experience.

12. TWISTS: Don’t forget to throw in twists & turns to add a bit of zest to your story. How you do this is entirely up to you. It is what differentiates one author from another. Find your own writing style and voice.

13. FEEDBACK: Get someone you trust to read your story just to give you general feedback on your characters, story line etc.

14. PROOF READING: Above all, get your book proof read and edited by someone who is skilled, not necessarily at a high cost. You could swap stories with an author you admire and get them to edit for you. Readers demand a story with fewer mistakes.

15. BOOK COVER: Don’t forget to get an attractive book cover, it is the first thing that interests readers. My cover designer, Maria Lazarou of Obsessed by Books Design creates attractive book covers and promo materials at super affordable prices.

16. CHALLENGES: Believe me, as an indie author I have experienced my fair share of challenges but if you keep writing and you are not afraid to receive criticisms, you will stand the test of time.

17. PROMOTE: Remember, if you WRITE and you don’t PROMOTE your book, no reader will know you wrote a book. There are millions of books out there, so start promoting your work!

In my next post, I will share my experience on ways to promote your work for free. Keep visiting my blog.

Learn to Love 'As is' #Imperfectlove #Marriage

Welcome to Advice Bench!

Here in the UK, we have stores that sell discounted products with labels stating 'purchase as is'

So when you buy the products, you don't know what the flaws are and you cannot return the goods.

In life, we all live in the 'as is' department.

Simple Tips to a Happy Relationship:

In your relationship or marriage, if you want to have long term happiness and a fulfilling life, you must learn to accept your husband or wife or in-laws or other family member 'as is'.

In other words, don't spend time and energy trying to change them to become a reflection of who YOU want them to be. Why? Because you have flaws too. Nobody is perfect.

Know that everyone is a mixed bag of strengths and weaknesses, including YOU. So if you are looking for perfection in your husband, wife or other people, you are on the wrong planet.

For Your Peace of Mind, Do the Following:

1. Accept and love your husband or wife 'as is', the way they are. If they change for good, you are blessed.

2. Don't be fooled into thinking that your best friend's husband, or your male colleague or the man winking at you across the room is 'perfect' or 'normal'. He has flaws too.

3. If your relationship is an endless quest to fix your husband, control your wife or make them pretend to be someone they are not, then it is time to stop!

4. Love means allowing your husband to be himself and not to complain until he becomes a twisted image of himself.

5. Be gentle and bear with your husband or wife. I'm not a gentle woman sometimes, but I'm learning to be.

6. Readily let go of your anger, complaint or annoyance.

7.  Commit to love your husband or wife in spite of their flaws.
My husband can be pretty impatient and sometimes, I just switch off until he is himself again.

Remember, to truly love your husband or wife, you have to love them 'as is'. Focus on their strengths and support them where they are struggling (flaws).

Your love will cover their flaws.

I used to complain in my heart about my husband's impatience. When I found this theme on The UCB Word For Today, I came to a new decision: to carry on loving him as impatient as he is sometimes.
