“Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far
above rubies.” Prov 31:10.
When a man marries a woman, he expects her total loyalty, dedication and love to their union. He expects his wife to behave in a certain way, becoming of a respectable married woman. The society's expectation is no different.

The attributes of a virtuous woman includes the following;
(i). A virtuous woman is upright:
She does her husband good and not evil all the days of his life. She would not plot to deceive him, or do anything to harm him. Her husband's heart safely dwells with her.

(ii). She willingly works with her hands:
She is not idle or lazy. A virtuous woman does not engage in gossip or bear tales. She is too busy engaging in profitable business for the benefit of her family.

(iii). She is honourable with good morals:
She is not adulterous, flirting with other men is not her way of gaining her husband's attention. And engaging in illicit affairs can not be named as part of her character.

(iv). She is generous to the poor and the needy:
Oh, she does not shut her ears and heart to those who need help around her. If she can't provide help, she will direct them to where they can find help or pray for help to come their way.

(v). She wears fine clothes and dresses her household in beautiful attire:
Everywhere she goes, she looks good and her husband, children and maid always appear well-cared for. Her household is kept warm in winter. It doesn't depend on whether or not her husband is wealthy. She is creative about making sure her family is well-dressed, not necessarily geared in designer outfits.
(vi). She will not put him down outside or inside. She keeps the home clean and tidy, because she knows cleanliness is next to godliness. Check out these cleaning tips here.
(vii). She speaks kind words. On her tongue is the law of kindness.

(viii). She has reward because her children rise up and call her blessed and her husband praises her.
RUTH was a childless widow
and a foreigner (a Moabite) in Bethlehem of Judah. She had returned from Moab with
Naomi, her mother-in-law. Ruth worked with her hands, by going to glean wheat
alongside reapers in the fields to bring home food for her mother-in-law. She
was strong and honourable.
One day, her
mother-in-law said to Ruth, wash
thyself, anoint thyself, wear your best garment and go to Boaz, a wealthy
man from Elimelech’s (Naomi’s husband) family. Naomi said, don’t make yourself
known to Boaz until he had finished eating and drinking.
Later on, Ruth
married Boaz, took in and gave birth to a son, named Obed, the grandfather of
King David.
A childless widow and a foreigner became part of the
royal lineage of Jesus Christ.
The woman in
marriage knows when to ask her husband for favours. She washes herself, anoints
herself with perfume, wears appealing
clothes and approaches when he is merry.
The Godly woman knows that sex is wholesome and holy
in marriage. She knows how to please her husband sexually and how to be
alluring in a graceful and loving way, better than the prostitutes and the
strange women. If she does not know how to please her husband, she asks God for
help and guidance. God is her Teacher because HE is the Creator.
