Character Interview: Wild Whispers #Romance #ASMSG

Hello Romance Readers,

It is Teaser Thursday.

I want to share a Teaser and Character Interview from my Sweet Romance, titled: Wild Whispers.

Character Interview of a young child from
Wild Whispers ~ A Sweet Romance
In your own words, please introduce yourself to our readers?
Thank you for this opportunity, this is my first interview. I’m Ebele Okocha, a ten year old primary school student. I live with my parents and six brothers and sisters in a small house in Dagor Village, Nigeria.
Good to meet you, Ebele. How do you know a certain woman, called Adaora Dike who is the heroine in a new book titled Wild Whispers?
Ah, Auntie Adaora is my good friend. She lives in this beautiful big house in the woods a small way from our house. I first met her as I searched for my lost coin under the dried leaves. She helped me find my coin and she invited me to her house and gave me homemade biscuit and milk. She is the kindest person I know.
Sounds like you like Adaora a lot. Does everyone in Dagor Village know and like your Auntie Adaora?
Not at all. It hurts me to hear all the horrible things the villagers say about Auntie Adaora. They don’t even know her or speak to her but they judge her from afar. Even my parents come home telling tales about what they have heard others say about her in the market square. I think some adults are not nice to strangers. It is so sad.
Wow! You are one feisty young lady, Ebele. So do your parents approve for you to visit Auntie Adaora?
Shish! Can I trust you to keep a secret? You must not tell my parents about my visits to Auntie Adaora. I want to keep it quiet.
You can trust me to keep my mouth shut. Do you think Auntie Adaora has any special person she cares about?
Not until recently. I think the stranger who she helped likes her a lot. But Auntie Adaora does not know she cares about him yet. But I like him already. Gary is nice.
I’m curious, how do you know Gary likes Auntie Adaora?
Oh I saw the way he looked at her when she was not looking. Hmmm…my eyes see things. When Gary talks about Auntie Adaora his eyes light up. And he surprised her with a lovely gift.
Finally, if you got a small amount of money what will you get for yourself, Ebele?
For me? Oh…I will buy lots of sweets, chewing gums and biscuits. And if I had some left over, I will buy the English textbook I have been telling my parents to buy for me.
Thank you for chatting with us, Ebele. Your Auntie Adaora has a great friend in you.
Oh thank you for having me. I enjoyed our chat.

  ~ A Flirty & Feisty Romance Novel ~

Losing everyone dear to Adaora was hard to understand, but she now finds comfort in a quiet home in the woods. Out there, she discovers there is more to
life than she first thought. When a gorgeous man dashes across her yard in the dark, she fears the worst until she finds out he is from out of town.

Fleeing from his attackers, handsome photographer, Gary is stranded in the woods. He finds an abandoned shelter but it is already occupied by a woman with eyes that see through him. Now he must figure out a way to warm his way into her home, if not her heart. Before long, Gary struggles to get Adaora out of his head.

Through the tough night, will Adaora and Gary change each other's lives or will fate intervene to keep them apart?

~ From the Author of His Ring: A Sweet & Steamy Romance ~

As Gary walked in, he looked left and right before he dropped the black bag in his hand at his feet. White and black trainers covered his feet like foot gloves.

“Please call me Gary. Look, I understand you’re scared. Don’t be.”
Adaora gave him a cursory glance. “If you promise not to cause any trouble, you can stay until morning. My reputation in this village can’t get any worse. I have no generator to provide electricity tonight. But I have got more candles. Come this way.”

She led the way to the parlour. His steps thudded against the tiled floor. “Sit down while I fetch the matchbox.”

In her head, Adaora knew it was crazy to allow any man into her home in the middle of the night. But he turned out to be a white man from abroad stranded in the woods. The villagers already called her vile names. Another dreadful peg will not make a difference.

Adaora grabbed one matchbox from the wooden cupboard that separated the parlour from the dining area and struck one stick. She cupped one hand over the flickering flame and lit three candles on three silver plated stands.

Usually, when Adaora was alone, she preferred to light a single candlestick. With the flick of one arm, she shoved her long, dark hair behind her neck and carried two candle stands to the centre table in the parlour.

“Please sit down, Gary. You’re making me nervous. How tall are you?”

He rubbed his palms together and sat on her large, black armchair. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to frighten you. I’m six four. And I’ll tell you anything you want to know.”

She nodded and swallowed. He was a good eight inches taller. So many questions tripped over themselves in her head.

“What are you doing here in Dagor? I mean how did you end up on my doorstep?”

By now, the rain beat down on her rooftop without mercy. She had to raise her voice to make sure he heard her above the staccato noise.

The Wedding Day @SharonKleve #BookReview #Romance #ASMSG

Welcome to Book Review
The Author of The Wedding Day, Sharon Kleve, sent me a review request. And I could not resist reading because I love weddings.

I know The Wedding Day is out now, so congratulations Sharon on your new release!

Available on Amazon
BLURB

Cora Henley doesn’t believe in love at first sight. In her personal experience love never lasts. Her parents’ nasty divorce and her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal have her convinced long-term relationships don’t work.

Kane Price is finally ready to settle down, get married and have a family. When he falls head-over-heels for Cora, she makes it clear she’s not interested in a serious relationship. He’s come up against difficult obstacles before and never gives up until he gets what he wants. And he wants Cora.

If Cora can just trust her heart to Kane they both might find their happily-ever-after.

REVIEW OF THE WEDDING DAY

I have posted my review and rating of The Wedding Day on Goodreads and Amazon.

Sharon also wanted me to share my experience on my blog too. So here you go.

My Review Title: A Sweet Romance Story

Cora, an insecure and super - organized wedding planner meets Kane, a handsome new man in town who has his eyes set on her.

I liked Cora's personality because after all she had been through with her parent's divorce and failed relationship, she bounced back with Kane's steadfast support and patience.

However, the emotional connection between Cora and Kane was slow but it blossomed so quickly I felt slightly out of it. I would have loved more intensity and passion, especially in Cora.

Overall, it was a sweet romantic tale. Every one got their own happy ending.
My Rating:

I give 4 fruit bouquet  to The Wedding Day by Sharon Kleve - For a lovely story, medium emotional connection, wish there was a deeper connection with the characters.

What #Attracted You to Your #Partner?

My romantic heart keeps asking so many questions about relationships. I can't help myself.

The whole aim is to strengthen and deepen our relationship by exploring the basics of friendship.

This is a follow up post on the previous one that asked, 'Where in the world did you meet your husband or wife?'

What was the first attraction? Why did you do a double take at him or her? Was it the smile, the eyes, physique, hair, lips, sense of humour, gait, talent, family reputation, race/tribe, wealth, character, personality or attitude?

As usual, to kick start the discussion, I'll share mine.

Surprisingly, it is my husband's soulful singing voice that instantly hit a chord in my soul.  Of course at that time, I hadn't even met him. But when I saw him days later, I called out, 'Our singer...!' That was almost sixteen years ago. God is great!

If you read this post, you've got to share yours. *Laughing*

So, what was the first attraction?

Huge thanks for visiting. I look forward to reading what first struck you about your husband or wife.

Will One Kiss Steal Her Heart? Stolen Valentine Kiss - A #NewRelease #Novella

Flirty & Feisty Romance Novels released the seventh title, the first sweet romance novella and first series; STOLEN VALENTINE KISS in time for Valentine season.

To sweeten your weekend, here's the blurb and excerpt.

Stolen Valentine Kiss (Holiday Series #1) by Stella Eromonsere-Ajanaku

Publication Date: Feb 1st 2014

ISBN/EAN 13: 1495237931/9781495237935 (Paperback)

Genre / Categories: Fiction/Romance/Contemporary/Interracial/Multicultural

One broken heart. Two grieving minds.

To Lorna Ibe, Departmental Manager with one of London's multi-channel retailers, Valentine's Day lost its romantic flavour years ago. An unplanned holiday to New Jersey is her perfect getaway from the stress and emotional turmoil locked in her heart, just what she needs to take her mind off her troubles. That's until she runs into Logan.

Magazine publisher, Logan Blake has had his fair share of stress in the past few years. When his sister asks him to drop off old clothes to charity, he has a minor accident in front of the charity shop where Lorna volunteers. When he sets eyes on her bare midriff as she wipes the display window, he clears his busy schedule to volunteer his time. Two burdened hearts afraid to get entwined.

One Stolen Valentine Kiss. Will Valentine season bring them romance or will their fears keep them apart?

The brush flew out of her unsteady hands for the third time in a row.
Swallowing hard, she eyeballed her reflection in the silver scalloped round dressing table mirror. Bending over, she snatched the brush from the carpet.

''Stay still,'' she said through gritted teeth. Why is she doing everything to please her Aunt? You know the answer to that, her conscience whispered.

The door bell clanged. She heard the door open. Stumbling to her feet, she rushed forward and placed her ears behind the door, straining to listen to his conversation with her Aunt.

Her knees juddered. ''Only because I haven't been out on a date for so long,'' she muttered.

The knock on her door sent her stumbling backwards, landing slapdash on the bed. Her Aunt walked in, a bemused smile on her face.

''So...so...so, Logan is even more manly...more striking than you let on. Wow! You look gorgeous in that red dress.'' Breathing easier, she stood up.
''Do you think this dress flatters me?''

I am Stella Eromonsere-Ajanaku, a fun loving mother of two, married to my very own gorgeous alpha male. I recently 'retired' from an eighteen stint working as a Quality Assurance Manager. Writing romance novels is an exciting adventure.

In 2010, I created Flirty & Feisty Romance Novels. There are six contemporary romance novels in the kitty, varying from sweet & sensual to spicy hot & steamy - LOITERING SHADOWS, STORMY DEFENSE, BEYOND the LADY, THE GARDNER'S ICE MAIDEN, SPARKLING DAWN and HUSBAND to RENT. STOLEN VALENTINE KISS is my first series and my first Novella.

On my writing desk at the moment, my first historical romance, a trilogy is taking shape. A daunting challenge I must confess, but I love the characters and their journey so far. In my leisure time, I go swimming, read romance novels, go to Cinema, and watch TV.

BLURB

When Captain Richard Greyston encounters three figures in a graveyard, he takes them for a spectral visitation until he realizes it is two young ladies—in their nightgowns, no less—and their spinsterish companion. A spinster with slender limbs and an enchantingly velvety voice.

Pembra doesn’t care a whit for the captain’s opinion of her, even after circumstances force them into a sham betrothal. But when a gypsy warns her that his life hangs in the balance, she begins to realize that her heart is not so uninvolved as she might like to pretend.

EXCERPT
“Where’s everyone going?” she muttered. Her curiosity aroused, Pembra slipped out the door behind her sisters, keeping the spectral white nightgowns in sight as she stayed in the shadows. Her heart gave a hard ka-thump at the nearby screech of an owl. Ignoring it, she kept going.

What are they up to? Pembra watched Sabrina follow Emma, who followed Betsy.

The maid turned off the path into the small graveyard located behind the rectory. She forgot to watch Betsy as she stared in astonishment at Emma sinking behind a large tombstone, like a specter sinking into the grave, while Sabrina crept up behind her.

Pembra tiptoed closer until she heard subdued voices. She braced her hands against the rough bark of an oak. Hidden, she leaned forward to hear.

“Emma what are you doing here?” Sabrina demanded.

Emma clamped a hand over her own mouth, muffling her shriek. “What are you doing here?” she hissed back.

“Following you.”

“Gosh, you scared me.” Emma pulled Sabrina down beside her.

“At the risk of being repetitive, what are you doing here?”

“Following Betsy. You’ll never believe it, but she’s out there with Adolphus Webster.”

“The rector’s son?” Sabrina gasped in shock. “Surely you’re mistaken. That platter-faced prig wouldn’t have the nerve to meet anyone.”

“Oh, no? Well just take a look at that. Meeting is hardly the word for what’s going on.” Emma giggled.

“Oh my.” Sabrina clapped her hand over Emma’s eyes while peeking over the top of the tombstone.

“Hey, move your hand.” Emma wiggled trying to dislodge her disobliging sister’s fingers.

“You are much too young to witness such disreputable behavior,” her sibling scolded.

“Yes, and you are so much more worldly,” Emma grumbled, as she pried away Sabrina’s fingers.

“Well, I’m worldly enough to know if Pembra finds out about this, its curtains for Betsy,” Sabrina replied, indignant.

The girls—so awake to the carnal pursuits under the maple tree—were paying not the least attention to their immediate surroundings.

Pembra stepped out from her hiding place. “If Pembra finds out about what?”
“Eeekk.” Both girls screeched and jumped up in fright.

~*~

It was unfortunate indeed that Captain the Honorable Richard Greyston, late of the Household Brigade,  grandson and only heir of the fifth Earl of Meade, had taken a wrong turn and was cantering by on his temperamental stallion, when the girls rose shrieking from behind the tombstone.

“Bloody hell,” floated on the clear night air as Greyston fought to get his mount under control, not quite believing what he was seeing as three ghostly apparitions stared at him from behind an ancient funerary marker.

When his mount Doondiah was quieted down, Greyston unobtrusively drew a pistol from an inside pocket of his great coat. Nudging the stallion with his knees, he approached cautiously. Though, damned if he knew what good a pistol would be against a ghost, much less three.

Greyston gave a snort of disgust as he drew nearer and saw that his ghostly apparitions were only girls, at least the two clutching each other were. The third was definitely an old maid wearing a ridiculous mobcap, pulled down nearly to her thick spectacles, and a night rail that had enough material in it to serve as an army tent.

“You damn fool,” he told his horse succinctly.

“That will be enough of that language in front of innocent young females, sir,” the old maid snapped, stepping forward.

Spoken like a true spinster.  He sighed inwardly. But ye gods, the voice. Velvety as night. Low and smoky as sin. A nightingale sound that conjured up forbidden delights. If his mistress had a voice like that he’d never leave her side. A lot could be forgiven resonance like that even if it came from a dried up old spinster.

He moderated his cutting rejoinder to a mild, “Madam, what are you doing out here?”
