Anita, please tell us about your family, background and your location?
I have been married to my husband 3 years, this year. We have been together for 15 years though. We met young and have stayed together ever since. We have three gorgeous children – Todd who is 8, Sybylla who is 7 and Issaac who is 5. We were both from a small coal mining town in Queensland, Australia. We now live in a town called Edmonton, it’s up in North Queensland, Australia. It is beautiful here, lots of sights to see and places to explore. A lot of rainforest.
Sounds awesome. How did you and your husband meet?
Ok, well, my mum was working for his mum and I went out to help her one day. His mum was showing us around the place when this tall, dark and handsome guy came past on a horse. OMG! It…he was just so bloody gorgeous, I was in huge lust. He was mates with a guy in my class at school and from there he told him and I got up the courage and asked him out. He said yes and there you go, lol.
You asked him out? Wow! You are so brave. Do you have an embarrassing moment you want to share with our readers?
I have a few but I’ll write one. I was picking my son up from school in the afternoon. It had been non-stop raining because there was a cyclone hanging around and we were copping with the rain and huge winds. I picked him up, we walked out to the car, which was parked on the busiest street. I put him in the car quickly because it had just started to rain again, then all of a sudden a HUGE gust of wind lifted my dress up and over my head. I was horrified. Luckily I had knickers on. I didn’t stick around long enough to see if anyone had coped an eyeful.
Lol!!! I'm belly aching laughing, Anita. How did you come up with the story for your books?
I was reading A LOT of self-published authors and came across my first MC (motor cycle club) book. It was romance and it was a hot story. I fell in love. I started reading so many MC books but never came across the story I wanted to read. I thought about it for a while and then decided since I was a stay at home mum I would give writing my own story a go.
Great motivation indeed. So do you have a favourite author?
Yes, I do. I LOVE Janet Evanovich, absolutely love them. They are books I can read and re-read all the time.
And your favourite pet?
At the moment, we have a 6month old kitten we rescued. She was a dumped at the hospital and one of the nurses there fed her and then caught her and brought her to the foster carer. She took a little while to come to us, but has finally settled in. Her name is Gypsy.
Gypsy is lucky. What are your other interests?
I love exploring with my family. We love camping and going on bush walks. My hubby bought us an early anniversary present, a new camera. It had so much use over the last month. I love to read with my kids and in doing so they all love to read too. We love tending our little veggie garden. We have beans, garlic chives, pumpkins and dwarf mulberry trees growing at the moment.
How lovely. I envy you. What’s your music choice?
Ahhhhh, music. I LOVE all music. Not particularly country though. Some days I listen to the lyrics of songs and other days, I listen to the beat of the music. Music is an integral part of my writing, it gives me so much inspiration.
