Blurb
Julia walks into the sperm bank with plans to create a family,
but instead of a match on the microscope, she ends up with three teenaged girls and
their smoking hot uncle. Julia Wall loves her job, her quiet life, and reading slow
burn romance novels. But she’s losing her sight, and her biological clock is ticking.
With a relationship track record she could probably write chick lit about, she knows
she’s better off doing it on her own. So she signs up to find her baby romance at a
sperm bank that specializes in a personal donor matching experience.
Emilio Thompson is the recipient of an insta-family. Trauma
and tragedy lead to him raising three needy girls on his own. Fresh out of law school,
his friend offers him a job at her unconventional clinic. Contracts and paperwork pay
the bills, but he never expected to find his dream girl sitting on the other side of
his desk, desperate for a baby.
Julia has everything figured out. Emilio and his sweet, sassy
nieces don’t fit into her carefully constructed plans. But knowing what you want and
finding what you need are two very different things…
Excerpt
“I have one more meeting, then I’m gonna jet home. I think we
have a frozen casserole from Kimmy in the freezer. Will you put in the oven
for me when I text you?”
“On it. See you soon.”
She’d almost hung up. But he managed to stop her. “Hey,
kiddo.”
“Yeah?”
“Love you, too. Gotta go deal with Chelsea. Bye.”
Emilio hung up the phone and set it to the side of his desk.
He had no idea when it had all gone down that three young girls, the oldest of whom
was half his age and the youngest who’d been born the year he graduated high
school, would come to own his heart so completely.
“Emilio.” Tanner’s voice was crisp and clear through the
speaker of the phone sitting on his desk.
Emilio pushed the little red button that would connect him to
the very competent receptionist out in the lobby. “Yeah?”
“Ms. Wall is here to see you.”
He allowed himself a moment to pray Tanner never had to leave
early again for a dentist appointment when no one else but Valerie was in the
building.
Then Emilio shoved the stack of untidy papers to one side of his desk and
threw the can of diet soda into the recycle bin to the side of his filing cabinet,
before speaking again.
“Okay. Send her in.”
Emilio stood and walked around the desk, brushing at the grey
slacks Hayley claimed made his long legs look even longer. He waited as the
door opened and Tanner appeared. He smiled at Emilio, one dimple blinking,
then stepped aside to let the client in.
Emilio immediately understood that the universe was truly
against him. Because there in his office, waiting to talk to him about getting
another man’s sperm put into her, was the most beautiful woman he’d seen in years.

Author Bio
Kay is a middle child, an extrovert, and a writer. She daydreams a lot. She has a relatively diverse resume. Some highlights include: park
ranger, Special Olympics fundraiser, museum marketing manager, and college professor.
Some of those jobs definitely influence her writing, as do the places
she's lived.
Oh the places she's lived! They make the resume look
boring. They include (but are not limited to) the suburbs outside Detroit, Yellowstone
National Park, a small town
in northern Montana, an even smaller town on the Utah/Colorado
border, Las Vegas, and San Francisco.
Kay started writing as a kid, but never got serious about it
until she spent a lonely winter in a village with just thirteen other people at 8,000
feet watching the snow drift. Then she put her computer keyboard to work, and
she's been at it ever since.
A lot of people ask Kay why she writes romance. The answer is
simple. She is in love with the idea of love. She loves to be in love. She loves to
see people be in love. She loves to watch people fall in love. It’s all amazing all the
time. And the thing about love is – everyone gets it at some point in their life, in
some way, from someone.
