"In Sickness and in Health #Marriagevows #Wedding

Welcome to Advice Bench!

Are you married? If you are, read on. If not, read on anyway. Lol!

Cast your mind back to the day you made those sacred vows, "In sickness and in health..." to your husband or wife.

Me and my husband on 4th Dec 1999 after we made our vows
I hope you remember that day with fond memories. I do. Of course, you have to ask my husband who has been caring for me for the last three years if he does too.

When you made those vows, did you really think a day would come when you would need to fulfil every single letter of those words: in sickness?

As in actually take care of your husband or wife day by day, year after year, in addition to probably going to work, shopping, caring for your children and so on?

In all honesty, I did not dwell on those words throughout my wedding ceremony over sixteen years ago. I could not wait to become Mrs Stella Eromonsere-Ajanaku, start our new life together and get down to discovering the secret joys between the sheets because we abstained throughout our engagement.

So three years ago when I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the tender, compassionate and more caring side of my husband was revealed. And I'm so grateful to God for blessing me with a man with unlimited patience and love through my extreme fatigue moments.

I have heard about women who have been struck with different ailments and their husbands took a long walk to another woman's bed and heart.

So I want to say THANK YOU to every man and woman who acts as a carer for their partners. You are all awesome. But my husband is number one on the list. Lol!
