Are you competitive? #Winner #Beyourself

Welcome to Advice Bench!

People often say the world is so tough, it is survival of the fittest - much like in the jungle where the big bad lion is king. This suggests that you have to get ahead of everyone else. You have win to survive.

A certain level of competitiveness is good. It keeps you working hard to win because you need to master whatever challenges you face.

Where it gets tricky is when your competitiveness make you feel 'less than' or 'better than' someone else. In that case, your competitive edge has gone a step too far.

If you are wise, you would not boast beyond your limit, you will not measure your success or lack of it with anyone else's standard, but by your God-given purpose.

When you work or play in a team, everyone has different skills. But to win, the team needs everyone to work together not against one another. Even though  some people may get the louder applause, the victory belongs to them all.

If you compare yourself with others, you deny yourself a sense of accomplishment, because you have made the benchmark to be like somebody else.

Remember, everybody has a different purpose, skills and are designed to fulfil their God-given role.

The liberating truth is that God has given YOU everything you need for the position you play in life and the purpose you have.

And God who gave others the ability to excel at what they do, will do the same for you when you learn to focus on Him, not them.
