And how did Forbidden Dance story come about?

The soaring divorce rates in today’s world got me concerned.

I sat staring out of my bedroom window one bright spring afternoon. Across the road, a woman stormed out of a house, got into the car and a man in a white bathrobe was close on her heels. She did not wait to listen to him. I just imagined they were married and having problems. And so I got inspired to write a story about Alero and Kyle.

There are so many women in Alero's shoes who have given up hope on enjoying a happy marriage. And I wanted to focus on their situation.

Stella, which of the characters in Forbidden Dance do you like most and why?

By a twist of fate, I love Zane Abdul, Alero's (heroine) admirer. For the first time, I have not fallen in love with the lead characters.

Zane Abdul
Zane is of Moroccan descent, a decent man with great personality and passion who's fiercely protective of the woman he loves. A man after my heart. I'm inspired to write Zane's story in new book, titled YEARNING HEARTS by a reader named, Nicole Guerrero.

So, is there any part of you or your experience in Forbidden Dance?

Lol! Yes, I have experience in counselling married people. It was great to slip in the counselling experience when one of the characters went through a difficult time in their marriage.

Also, in spite of everything Alero went through in her marriage, she was still mindful of her parents retribution. In my life, I always have it at the back of my mind that I must not do anything to smear my parents' name.

Stella, what do you hope readers will get out of reading Forbidden Dance?

Forbidden Dance was written in the hope that many women who are on the verge of divorce would reconsider, and gave their marriage another shot. Hope must be kept alive always.
