#Romance #Quotes #Monday 70

Welcome to Romance Quotes Monday!
Hello Romance Lovers,

On Romance Quotes Monday, I want to honour an exemplary couple.

This weekend was packed full with celebration. Our priest, Father Cecil Heatley and his wife Janet celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Did you get the number of years they have been married?

I repeat. They have been married for 50 long years. I'm not even 50 years old, yet.

Wow! Isn't God Awesome in their lives?

Father Cecil made it crystal clear at the ceremony that it takes only the grace of God to stay married for so long. The priest, The Very Rev Dianna G Williams, who preached the sermon, spoke about how Cecil and Janet keep falling out and falling back into their marriage.

So, I'm dedicating four romance quotes to a truly special couple, Cecil and Janet Heatley.

The quotes are culled from their wedding anniversary program.

Enjoy.

RomQuote #1

Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

RomQuote #2

Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
My husband and I with Father Cecil

RomQuote #3

You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.

Quotes are from Kahil Gibran's quotes on marriage. It was the second reading at the event.

My husband and I wish our darling priest and his wife many more fruitful years filled with unending joy, more love and peace. Although, he is retired, Father Cecil has been a wonderful and loving priest, father and grandfather to us, our children and many parishioners. We love you, Father Cecil and Janet. Hip! Hip! Hurray!!!
