Eboni moved away from him and went to stand by the
window overlooking the city. The city views from here was worth the stress she

and I’ll forget about your no-show.” He stood beside her with his hands pushed back

A vicious hammer landed on her
chest. She flicked her head to glance at him. Smeared red with her lipstick, his
lips seemed fuller. “That’s not a fair deal and you know it.”
“It’s the only one I’m offering.
Take it, Ms Eboni.”

A savage tremor ran down her
spine, so she wrapped her arms around her body.
“Yes, I want to, but I won’t.”
Inhaling quickly, she puffed out air. “I don’t want to chat about my dinner date
with you, Mr. Bronx.”
“Cut the intro and go straight to
the details. Who is he? Where did you have dinner? How long have you dated him?
I want to know everything. Don’t skip anything.”
“Why?”
“I’m asking the questions.”
